Profile

Major Roshan Herath psc SLE is a Commissioned Officer in the Sri Lanka Army. He completed his education at Royal College, Colombo 07 and joined the 29th Intake of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University on 12th September 2011. Upon completion of the academic phase, he proceeded to the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa, for advanced military training. Following the successful completion of the training, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 17th December 2016 and posted to the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. Throughout his military career spanning nearly 14 years, Major Roshan Herath has held numerous key command, staff and instructional appointments. He has also successfully completed several local and overseas military training courses, contributing significantly to his professional development and operational effectiveness.

• General Staff Officer 3 (Intelligence & Security) – Directorate of Operations, Army Headquarters
• Brigade Major – 512 Infantry Brigade - Jaffna 
• General Staff Officer 2 (Plant) – Field Engineer Brigade, Vavuniya
