To commemorate World Environment Day, a tree planting ceremony was held on 05 June at 0800 hrs at the Parade Ground area of the KDU Southern Campus. The event was held under the patronage of the Rector, Brigadier Enoj Herath RSP USP ndu psc, whose presence added great significance to the occasion.
The ceremony brought together a distinguished gathering of Academic, Military and Administrative staff. Among the notable participants were the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, Dr. Harinda Lakmal, Senior Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Commander Suranga Kodikara USP psc, Senior Administrative Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Geeth Munagamage VIR, Adjutant, Major Dilan Perera SLSR, Squadron Commander, Major Rumesh Perera Lsc SLCMP, Troop Commanders, Heads of Departments, as well as other Senior Officers.
Also in attendance were Officer Cadets of Intake 36 MBBS, Officer Cadets of Intake 39, Other Rank Instructors, the academic, administrative and civil staff of the KDUSC.
The ceremony added a touch of greenery to the campus and served as a meaningful reminder of the responsibility each individual holds in protecting and preserving the environment. Through this simple yet impactful initiative, the KDU Southern Campus community reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable future.
