GLOWIX’25: A FESTIVAL OF COLOUR AND UNITY AT KDU SOUTHERN CAMPUS
The UNIMEDIA Club of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University – Southern Campus, in collaboration with the Madala Organizing Team of the Department of Industrial and Service Quality Management, successfully organized Glowix’25, a vibrant Holi-themed celebration held at the Southern Campus Basketball Grounds.
Designed as a fundraiser and student engagement initiative, the event aimed to promote unity, creativity and cultural expression through colour, music and shared experience. It brought together Military Staff, Academic Staff and Students in a joyful evening filled with energy and togetherness.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Senior Deputy Dean of the Southern Campus, Commander (ASW) HDSL Abeysekara psc followed by the ceremonial lighting of the traditional oil lamp. A series of vibrant dance and musical performances by students set the tone for the evening. Participants also took part in interactive activities such as the Glow Ring Toss, Balloon Burst Challenge, Colour Relay Games and a creative Group Photo Task, which added enthusiasm and healthy competition to the celebration. The highlight of the night was the official colour splash ceremony, where participants came together in a festive display of colour, symbolizing joy, freedom and unity.
The celebration concluded with an energetic DJ session and open dance floor, bringing the event to a lively and memorable close. The event truly reflected the vibrant spirit of KDU Southern Campus and the power of unity through celebration.
