In order to facilitate the access to clean drinking water, the Southern Campus a water purification plant on 7^th May 2021 which is capable of providing 5000 liters of purified water per day.  This plant was designed by the Marine Department, Faculty of Engineering in such a way to achieve 100% recycling of the water and was constructed by the Sri Lanka Navy Construction team. The plant was declared opened by Rector Southern Campus on 07^th May 2021 also with the participation of Dean-FBESS, Deputy Dean -FDSS and many other officers. During the event, the Rector also appreciated efforts of the designing and construction teams.
