Bodhi Pooja Pinkama and Dansela to Commemorate Esela Poya at KDU Southern Campus

The KDU Southern Campus commemorated the sacred Esela Poya with a serene and spiritually enriching Bodhi Pooja Pinkama, followed by a Dansela offering warm roti, plantains and tea with jaggery. The event was held on 10th July 2025 at the campus Bodhimaluwa and was attended by a large gathering of officer cadets, day scholars and staff members — all clad in white, reflecting the solemnity and purity of the occasion.

The proceedings were graced by the presence of the Rector of KDU Southern Campus, Brigadier Enoj Herath RSP USP ndu psc, whose participation added both prestige and spiritual significance to the event. The Bodhi Pooja, which lasted approximately one and a half hours, was conducted by Ven. Aluthwewa Sumanarathana Thero in an atmosphere of deep reverence and tranquility, uniting the KDU community in a collective act of devotion and merit-making.

The entire event was flawlessly organized by Lieutenant Commander (CE) Malaka Werapitiya, the Project Officer of the Southern Campus, together with his dedicated team, under the guidance of the Rector. Their meticulous planning and heartfelt commitment ensured that the Pinkama was conducted with traditional sanctity, followed by a well-coordinated Dansela that brought joy and spiritual fulfillment to all attendees.

Initiatives such as this continue to nurture the moral and cultural fabric of officer cadets and students, fostering a deeper integration of spiritual values and community spirit within the KDU Southern Campus.
